Simpsons Hit £40K raised for Maggies Highland

Simpsons Garden Centre, Inverness have hit the £40K donation mark for Maggies Highlands.

Following their annual festive Ladies Night and their team taking part in Run the Runway last year, the local company have now hit over £40K raised for the local charity.

The annual festive ladies night raised over £8,000 for Maggies Highland, who are based at Raigmore Hospital offering practical, emotional, practical and social support to people with cancer and their family and friends.

The Simpsons Ladies Night festive evening has now raised over £40,000 for the charity with the Run the Runway the team also raising over £1,500.

Over 350 guests attended the sell-out ‘Ladies Festive Evening’, at Scotland’s Destination Garden Centre of the Year, where everyone was treated to an evening of music, cocktails, pampering, Christmas shopping and delicious festive food.

Siobhan MacBean, Marketing Manager at Simpsons Garden Centre said: “We’re delighted that so many ladies came along to support our 7^th Festive Ladies night for Maggies. It’s a busy time of year for everyone, so by having an evening where everyone can relax, have a pamper and enjoy chatting with friends – as well as support such an important local charity – was great way to start the festive season.

“Maggie’s plays such an important role in the local community, and we’re so please to continue supporting the work they do.”

Maggie’s Highlands Centre Head said: “Many thanks to everyone who supported Maggies Highlands by attending and spending at the Simpsons Ladies Night.

“Lives are turned upside down with a cancer diagnosis, and patients across the Highlands need the emotional and practical support offered by Maggies, for both themselves and their families. We supported 11,000 people affected by cancer this year in NHS Highlands and NHS Western Isles and aim to grow this number again in 2020.

“Everyone with cancer can access free support through our evidence based programme delivered by oncology professionals and psychologists, and events like this fund vital help for families living with cancer within the Highlands.”
