£2,000 Donated to Local Peterhead Charity
Simpsons, Aberdeenshire, have donated £2,000 to local Peterhead charity Men United for the second year running.
This year’s fundraising began with a charity raffle at the centres festive shopping evening in November, where hundreds of local guests came along, making donations on the night.
The team at Simpsons then extended the opportunity for customers to donate further to the charity, with collection buckets and tins located across the store and in their displays across the festive period.
Supporting Emotional and Mental Health
Peterhead based Men United was established to challenge the stigma that surrounds men’s mental health and the devastating consequences of poor emotional and mental health, supporting those in need with peer support groups, mentoring and motivational workshops and event speaking.
Siobhan MacBean, Marketing Manager at Simpsons said: “We’re delighted that our Mintlaw team have raised this fantastic amount again for Men United which will help support the vital work they do in the area. We know things are hard for everyone right now, so a special thanks must go to the generosity of our customers who really dug deep to support the charity across the festive season.”
Men United founder Sandy Garvock said: “We would like to say a massive thank you to everyone at Simpsons for choosing Men United as their chosen charity again this year but also for the hard work they have put in to help us raise this amount, it will help so many men in our local area.
“So many Men in our local area still have this idea that real men don’t speak about how they feel but this kind donation will help us to spread or moto that men don’t man up they speak up.”
