Simpsons Garden Centre kicked off December in style with their festive charity Ladies Night, raising £3,000 for Maggie’s Highlands. 250 ladies attended the sell out evening where they were treated to an evening of pampering, Christmas shopping and lots of delicious festive food.
At the end of the evening, as a ‘thank you’, everyone attending the event also received a fabulous goodie bag, packed with loads of lovely treats from the garden centre.
The charity evening raised awareness of local charity Maggie’s Highlands, based at Raigmore Hospital, which provides emotional, practical and social support to people with cancer and their family and friends.
The event brings the award winning garden centres fundraising total for local charities in 2014, to over £6000!
Siobhan MacBean, in charge of Marketing at Simpsons Garden Centre said: “This was a fantastic event, and we’re delighted that so many ladies came along to support it. Christmas is a busy time of year for everyone, so by kicking off the festive season with an evening like this; where everyone can relax, have a pamper and enjoy chatting with friends – as well as support such an important local charity – was a great way to start December.
“Maggie’s plays such an important role in the local community, and we really wanted to continue supporting the work they do.”
Maggie’s Highlands Centre Head Carole Bridge said: “I’d like to say a huge thank you to Simpsons Garden Centre for raising money and supporting Maggie’s Highland and everything we do to support people with cancer. We rely on voluntary donations to support our aim to make the biggest difference we can to people in the Highlands who are living with cancer, and their family and friends.”
