Merry Christmas Maggies from Simpsons Garden Centre
December 2015

Simpsons Garden Centre, Inverness started the festive season in style by raising over £5,000 for local charity Maggie’s Highlands.

Over 350 guests attended the sell out ‘Ladies Evening’, which was held at the start of December, where everyone was treated to an evening of entertainment, pampering, Christmas shopping, delicious festive food and cocktails.

The Inverness Military Wives choir welcomed everyone into the event, with a spectacular festive performance. Local and national companies also supported the event with Benefit, Debenhams and Boots attending as well as many small local independent retailers, creating a fantastic atmosphere for everyone who came along.

At the end of the evening, everyone attending also received a fabulous goodie bag, packed with loads of lovely treats from the garden centre, as thanks for supporting the event.

All money raised from the evening will go to local charity Maggie’s Highlands, based at Raigmore Hospital, which offers practical, emotional, practical and social support to people with cancer and their family and friends.

This is the 3rd year Simpsons has supported Maggies through it’s Festive Ladies Night, raising nearly £10,000 for the charity.

Siobhan MacBean, Marketing Executive at Simpsons Garden Centre said: “This was a fantastic event, and we’re delighted that so many ladies came along to support it. Christmas is a busy time of year for everyone, so by kicking off the festive season with an evening like this; where everyone can relax, have a pamper and enjoy chatting with friends – as well as support such an important local charity – was a great way to start December.

“Maggie’s plays such an important role in the local community, and we really wanted to continue supporting the work they do.”

Maggie’s Highlands Centre Head Carole Bridge said: “I’d like to say a huge thank you to Simpsons Garden Centre for raising money and supporting Maggie’s Highland and everything we do to support people with cancer. We rely on voluntary donations to support our aim to make the biggest difference we can to people in the Highlands who are living with cancer, and their family and friends.”
