Five in a row for Simpsons

For the fifth year running, Simpsons Garden Centre in Inverness has been judged Best Destination Garden Centre in Scotland by the Garden Centre Association (GCA).

The local business also picked up six other awards including Best Plant Area and Best Restaurant. Such positive, ongoing recognition from the sector’s official governing body is a great boost for Simpsons and another achievement for Inverness’s thriving business community.

The awards are decided by the results of the annual inspections undertaken at all GCA garden centres. Garden centres have no advance warning about when their inspection will take place and they don’t have the option to turn away the inspector.

And the excitement’s not over yet – as one of this year’s top scoring centres in Scotland, Simpsons is in the running for UK Destination Garden Centre of the Year Award, to be announced at the GCA annual conference taking place in January 2015.

“The awards tell us that we’re doing something right,” says MD Andrew Simpson. “It comes down to a whole variety of things working together – the right people with a keen eye for the right product, great staff service, specialist knowledge across all areas, expertise in the kitchen, and the determination not to compromise on standards, whether it’s a cake for the restaurant or a tree for the garden.”

Andrew Simpson believes a big part of the company’s success is down to its strong and loyal customer base. In recognition of this, Simpsons strive to give something back to the community that has supported them from the beginning, regularly raising funds for a number of local charities.

Fingers crossed for the UK Destination Garden Centre of the Year award!
