How To Look After A Poinsettia Plant
Poinsettia Care Advice
A symbol of the festive season for many, the stunning poinsettia is a beautiful way to bring colour into your home during December. At Simpsons Garden Centre, all of our poinsettias are proudly Scottish grown, giving them the strongest start and the best chance of thriving in your own Scottish home.
Whether you’re choosing your first poinsettia or looking to keep your annual favourite flourishing well into the new year, our three top tips will give you all the information you need to keep these vibrant plants looking their best throughout the holiday season.

Top 3 Poinsettia Care Tips
1. Poinsettias are tropical plants and appreciate being placed near a sunny window for sunlight.
2. To keep in bloom as long as possible keep in a steady 18-20oc during the day, 15oc at night minimum – avoiding any drafts.
3. Water the plant whenever the surface feels dry to touch. Watering until it drains out the bottom, but don’t allow the plant to sit in water.
