The Gardening is Good for You project – an initiative by the Horticultural Trades Association which is supported throughout garden centres across the UK – helping to inspire colour and interest in your garden all year round…with monthly themed articles, inspiration and ideas for the garden.
The project helps introduce gardeners to a range of plants which will enables gardens to stay interesting and attractive from January to December. Here are this years suggestions month by month.
- January — Year-round colour and interest, grow yourself healthy
- February — Planting styles for creating your perfect garden
- March — Spring colour and spring planting
- April — Colour themed displays, get creating in the garden with colour
- May — Plants for summer displays and crops, get growing
- June — Scented plants and fill your garden with fragrance
- July – Plants for instant colour and displays, and enjoy time in the garden.
- August – Plants to excite the senses in the garden.
- September – The gift of growing together
- October – Planting with nature in mind
- November -Autumn planting, getting down to earth
- December – Winter colour, plant away the winter blues
