“Proud to support

community projects and charities”

Inverness Science Festival at Simpsons

During 2017 we have supported over 70 local community projects, school and charities as well as fundraising for a number of local Inverness charities.

In May we hosted the Inverness Science Festival giving customers the opportunity to learn about science in their garden and in September we hosted the Inverness-shire Bee Keepers Association and their honey awards, a great opportunity for our customers to learn all about bee keeping and honey production.

As well as being an award winning destination garden centre, we are very proud of our local links, and equally proud to help and support local charities, schools and community projects.

In 2017, Simpsons Garden Centre, staff and customers have raised and donated nearly £14,000 for local charities and projects. Here’s a little about what we got up to…

In February we donated over £600 to Rotary Club Inverness Culloden through donations made to our entrance wishing well. The Rotary then donated this amount direct to their nominated charity.

In June, we raised £1150 for MFR Cash for Kids, by holding a staff race night for the charity’s  ‘500 Faces’ campaign.

Throughout the year we raised over £300 for charity from 5p bag charges.

At the end of November, we held our charity ‘Ladies Night’ raising funds and supporting Maggies Highland –  who provide emotional, practical and social support to people with cancer and their families and friends.

A great evening was had by all, from Christmas shopping, cocktails, pampering, raffle and a selection of local companies for everyone to enjoy – raising over £7,000 in the process for Maggies!

MFR Cash for Kids were also featured again in November when we launched our Winter Wonderland experience with all ticket sales for the evening going to the charity. The £2,000 raised helped towards their ‘Mission Christmas’ campaign.

Throughout the year we also support many local and national charities, local projects and schools by donating to fundraising events.

Keep posted on the exciting projects we’ll be supporting during 2018, via our facebook pages, twitter and in store.

We do our utmost to support as many local charities, groups, schools etc as possible. If you’re looking for a donation, please put your request in writing at least one month prior to your event, and send to our marketing department, Simpsons Garden Centre, Inshes, Inverness, IV2 5BA or email:
